Gadget of the week

intel_health_guideMy geek side is always searching for cool gadgets, specially medical gadgets.
So today I read that Intel has announced that they are hard at work on a new medical gadget known as the Health Guide.
The device is known as Health Guide PHS6000 and allows patients to talk with their health care providers live.
This puts patients in constant communication via audio and video with their health care providers.
On top of that, patients are also able to manage all of their medical data from home as well.
This will allow them to check on their own health history, look up diseases, drugs, and all sorts of stuff.
Patients will have interactive tools through this device which will remind patients of appointments, vital signs, and all of that stuff.
It all works on a touch-screen and will connect to your health care provider over a secure host server.
Intel is currently working with San Health Plan, Aetna, the Providence Medical Group in Oregon, and others to begin to try out this new system.
